Knox and me at the beach.

What notes do you leave behind?

I love love notes. The ones left by the coffee maker in the morning from my husband, sweet pictures from my boys, thoughtful cards from coworkers, Sharpie hearts sketched onto Starbucks cups by caring baristas. There’s something about a simple note (words or pictures) turned into keepsakes - that makes love feel tangible.

Every year, in a tradition I picked up from my dad, I write a letter to my boys on their birthdays. A small way to celebrate them, to capture a moment in time, and to remind them how deeply they are loved. It’s a practice of intentionality - of pausing, reflecting and putting into words what often goes unsaid.

Two years ago, we were blessed with our third baby, Knox, our spring equinox boy. His arrival marked a season of new beginnings and abundance.

In leadership and in life, the smallest gestures often leave the biggest impact. A handwritten note. A moment of encouragement. A reminder that someone sees you. As I celebrated Knox’s birthday today, I’m reminded that the most meaningful legacies aren’t just built in boardrooms or the work behind a computer screen, but in the moments of connection we create.

So today, in honor of birth days, new beginnings and the power of intentional words, I’m sharing a little piece of Knox with you, my love letter to him and to the wild, wonderful life I get to be part of.

My Wild Love

You are my spring equinox, 🌱
a season of abundance,
a promise of new beginnings.

You are our mic drop,
my wild love,
and Stage 5 clinger.

You are my 3 a.m. wake-up call,
my softest snuggle,
my last slow dance of the night.

You move to your own rhythm,
never a moment too soon,
the most surprising personality in the room.

Your kindness is expressive,
your kisses contagious,
your laugh a mighty occasion.

You are our rainbow after many rains, 🌈
the morning fog dissipating,
always the promise of love,
And the joy that turned my waiting into wonder.
